With the new ArkPak 730, you aren’t limited to just using lead acid batteries. The new 730 model is compatible with 12V LiFeP04 deep cycle batteries, which offer a lot of benefits over lead-acid deep cycle batteries (such as long life, greater depth of discharge, and higher levels of current draw - read more here).
If you’ve decided to go the LiFePO4 battery route, here’s a list of lithium iron phosphate batteries that will work in the new ArkPak 730. Our criteria:
- Must be LiFePO4 battery chemistry (other lithium ion battery chemistries won't work)
- Must be Group 31 battery size or smaller (or less than the ArkPak's internal dimensions)
For reference, the internal dimensions of the ArkPak 730 are: 180mm wide x 330mm long x 238mm high.
StarkPower's "UltraEnergy" Lithium Ion Battery
The StarkPower Ultra Energy storage battery is lightweight and powerful. This model has a Battery Management System (BMS), that monitors the key operating parameters during charge and discharge — this includes volts, currents, and internal temp. Fusion Lithium Deep-Cycle Battery
The Fusion safely delivers lithium phosphate energy storage in lead acid battery sizes. They offer the same basic function and form as a lead acid battery, but at half the weight and twice the running time. Fusion lithium batteries are made using prismatic cells to have a long life (10 year design life) and safe to use. This brand is commonly known as the pioneer of 12V lithium deep-cycle batteries in Australia.

The Smart Battery offers all the functionality of the other batteries on our list, but with slightly more capacity and the longest warranty available. If you're looking for the absolute maximum capacity, this is the option for you.

NOTE: These are all the LiFePO4 battery options we're currently aware of that also fit inside the ArkPak 730. There are quite a few companies selling large lithium iron phosphate batteries for use in RVs, as solar storage systems, etc., but many of these batteries are too large to be considered portable.
In terms of costs, all of these batteries currently cost about $1,000 each (some more, some slightly less)...we do expect that pricing to fall as time goes by.
